The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) has made briefing the new treasurer and financial services minister a priority as the royal commission interim report deadline looms.
Executive Director Peter White welcomed the appointment of Stuart Robert to the role of financial services minister and thanked the outgoing minister, Kelly O’Dwyer.
Building on his solid relationship with new prime minister Scott Morrison and now treasurer Josh Frydenberg, he is currently preparing to meet Mr Robert.
“I think Mr Robert’s knowledge of business and IT will serve him well in this area which is under scrutiny because of the Hayne royal commission.
“I look forward to meeting Mr Robert and Mr Frydenberg, who has oversight of ASIC and APRA, both of whom we have been working closely with on reforms to our industry.”
Mr Robert has oversight of the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) which recently undertook consultation with the broking industry.
